Portable solution for bearing heating
The SKF portable induction heater TWIM 15 is designed for heating roller bearings mounted to shafts with an interference fit. Heating expands the bearing, eliminating the need for resistance in mounting. In general, the use of TWIM 15 to create a temperature difference of 90°C (162 °F) between the bearing and the shaft is sufficient to initiate the installation. In addition, the TWIM 15 can be used to heat other ring-shaped metal parts, providing flexibility in use.
Using a power supply, TWIM 15 is characterized by a high-temperature resistant plastic structure made of fiberglass, which can achieve a low temperature difference between the inner and outer rings of the bearing. This helps to reduce the internal tension caused by excessive thermal expansion on the inner ring compared to the outer ring.
The device is equipped with a user-friendly LED control panel, which does not require special training and is easy to understand. This panel is used to regulate temperature and indicate whether TWIM 15 is in operation.
